Ramsey: Tipped to face Danes

Craig Bellamy has hailed his Wales team-mate Aaron Ramsey as 'a very special player'.

The talented teenager has once again been included in the senior squad for his country, despite being just 17-years-old.

The Arsenal youngster is widely tipped to make his Wales debut on Wednesday in a friendly against Denmark, heightening the furore which surrounds his every move.

Not since Ryan Giggs burst onto the scene at the same age have the Welsh placed so much anticipation on one player.

However, with Ramsey having already experienced life in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League during his time with the Gunners, Bellamy is backing him to adapt to the international stage with ease.

Outstanding

"Aaron has been outstanding whenever I have seen him train or play. This is now a natural progression for him," said the Wales skipper.

"He will leave his mark on his debut, he has that much talent. I am convinced that he will be a huge figure for us for many years to come.

"You will see. Maybe some people will not notice him, but then they don't know football. We will know he is a special player.

"He is such a clever player, a rare talent. Whatever language you speak, whatever country you are from, you will recognise that he is a special talent.

The West Ham frontman added: "I cannot recall as much fuss about a young Wales player maybe since Ryan Giggs.

"There's a big fuss, and rightly so because he is a special talent. We don't get many like him in Wales, certainly not as good as him coming through.

"I don't want to put too much pressure on him, but everyone is very excited about him and that includes me."

Creative

Bellamy also believes that Wales boss John Toshack has made the right decision in putting so much faith in the country's precocious youngsters.

"John Toshack has given youth their chance, so hopefully in a few years we can mount a good qualifying campaign," he added.

"Aaron is different, very creative and very intelligent. He can certainly benefit me.

"He has that quality. His movement, how he receives the ball and the way he sees the game are different to other players. He is rare, that is what makes him so good.

"He is at the best club and with the best manager to progress. He is in good hands, so hopefully when he comes to play for Wales we get the benefits."
