Darlington striker Liam Hatch has not broken his neck x-rays have confirmed.

The 26-year-old was injured in the FA Cup first round replay defeat to Blue Square North side Droylsden.

The game was held up for 35 minutes as Hatch received treatment, before he was eventually taken to hospital but was allowed to travel back with the team on Tuesday night.

It was feared that the striker had broken his neck after he admitted to hearing a crack as he fell to the ground but x-rays have revealed that is not the case.

Hatch is on loan from League One side Peterborough United and has scored five goals in 13 appearances this season for Darlington.
