Ronaldo: In action against Brazil

Thiago Silva has accused Cristiano Ronaldo of trying to break his leg during a recently friendly contest between Brazil and Portugal.

The two sides clashed in Brasilia on Wednesday, with the hosts running out 6-2 winners in a thrilling encounter.

However, the game was marred by a number of heated exchanges involving Portugal skipper Ronaldo.

The Manchester United winger, understandably frustrated at his side's failings, repeatedly flung himself into challenges - much to the disdain of Brazilian defender Silva.

"He's a malicious guy and if I hadn't jumped out of the way he would have broken my leg," said the Fluminense centre-half.

"He just lost it because we snuffed him totally out of the game.

"He had the nerve to say he didn't touch me but that's only because I got out of his way.

"Then he realised he was in the wrong and tried to apologise, but I wasn't accepting that."

Bigmouth

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo was also left fuming at the antics of Ronaldo, claiming the Portuguse winger caught him with a stray arm at one point.

"Ronaldo was out of order and a bigmouth," he said.

"He elbowed me off the ball, then tried to have a shouting match about it."
