Queens Park Rangers chairman Flavio Briatore is eagerly anticipating a 'new chapter' at Loftus Road as Paulo Sousa prepares for his first game at the helm.

Ex-Portugal international Sousa was named as QPR's new manager on Wednesday following last month's sacking of Iain Dowie.

Sousa's first match in charge is at Watford on Saturday and Briatore is excited by what the future holds for the cash-fuelled club.

"(Sousa is) young, ambitious and serious about our project," Briatore told the club's official website.

"He has a great personality and is young, so he understands our players. He has the commitment and the knowledge to take us to where we want to be.

"This new chapter starts now - against Watford on Saturday."
