Evra: Wants derby win
Patrice Evra admits it is important for Manchester United to beat City on Sunday following last season's defeats by their local rivals.
Though United walked off with a Premier League and UEFA Champions League double, City won both meetings between the old foes.
City claimed a 1-0 success at home before winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in a game which marked the 50th anniversary of the Munich disaster.
Ahead of Sunday's match-up at the City of Manchester Stadium, live on Sky Sports 1, Evra is hoping United can give the fans a 'present' by picking up three points.
"Sunday should be a massive game for both sides," said Evra on Sky Sports News. "It's a very important game for us and for the fans as well, and for the people working for this club.
"We need to show to Man City they aren't better than us. Last year you lose six points, but you win the league.
"But for the fans it's a good present if you win against City."
United have drawn 0-0 in their last two away games, but midfielder Michael Carrick is not concerned by the team's lack of goals on their travels.
Carrick said: "I'm sure we will start scoring pretty quickly again. We've had spells since I've been here where we've had two or three games like we've had.
"It's easy to think, 'what's gone wrong?', but it's not a case of that.
"We believe what we're doing is the right way and I'm sure we'll become better than ever as the season progresses."
