Nosworthy: Has belief in team-mates
Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy has revealed that he will not be pointing the finger following Saturday's 4-1 loss at home to Bolton.
All of Bolton's goals came from Sunderland mistakes but the defender is adamant that the team need to stick together during this tough period.
Roy Keane's men have won just once in six games in the Premier League and they currently find themselves 18th in the table with just 15 points.
Keane has since taken full responsibility for the defeat and Nosworthy reminded fans who booed certain players after the game that everybody makes mistakes.
He told the Sunderland Echo: "I have made costly mistakes in the past so I know how the lads are feeling.
"There's no worse feeling than making a mistake and knowing it has cost your team badly.
"At the moment we're having a sticky patch as a team and we need to get out of it as a team. We have to pull together, stick it out and fight for every point that's available."
The Black Cats had appeared to have equalised at 2-2 through Djibril Cisse after Kenwyne Jones headed against the bar.
The goal was chalked off after the linesman flagged for a foul by Jones but Nosworthy does not use the decision as an excuse.
He added: "I thought it was a good equaliser, but I'm not going to start moaning about the officials because it won't change the result and won't change the mistakes we made in the game."
Keane takes his side to Old Trafford on Saturday to take on champions Manchester United but Nosworthy insists Sunderland can get something out of the game despite their poor form.
He said: "Everyone will expect us to lose at Old Trafford so anything we can get is a big result.
"We have to go there with our heads up and our chests out and give it everything. There's no point in going to Old Trafford and trying just to soak all the pressure, regardless of our position, we have to give it a go."
