Brown: Hull City the priority

Phil Brown insists his focus is on the next two years at Hull City after he was linked with the Sunderland job.

The City boss was a Sunderland fan in his youth and has been installed among the bookmakers' favourites to take over at the Stadium of Light following Roy Keane's departure.

Keane resigned from his role as manager on Thursday, with chairman Niall Quinn admitting he tried to persuade the Irishman to reconsider his decision.

Brown is aware of the pressures facing a Premier League boss, but appears to have no interest in succeeding Keane on Wearside.

Under contract at the KC Stadium until 2011, Brown has worked wonders in lifting City from the lower reaches of the Championship and into the Premier League.

Tough job

And he confirmed that his intention is to continue his excellent work with the Tigers, starting with Saturday's game at home to Middlesbrough.

"All I can say is that it's a tough job in the Premier League full stop," Brown told Sky Sports News.

"What has gone at Sunderland is Sunderland's business and nothing to do with me.

"I've got to make sure that the next couple of years in Hull City's history are proud moments for everybody in the area and that's going to be my intention starting from Saturday."
