McCarthy: Frustrated
Mick McCarthy was disappointed following Wolves' 2-2 draw with Blackpool, while Tony Parkes hailed his side's performance.
Wolves twice took the lead at Bloomfield Road as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Matthew Jarvis struck, but Blackpool pegged them back each time thanks to goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Rob Edwards.
Wolves had been looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table and McCarthy was frustrated not to claim maximum points.
"It is two dropped, being 2-1 up with just a few minutes to go," McCarthy told Sky Sports.
"They had a good first half but I thought we were the better team in the second half and I can't remember Wayne Hennessey making a save."
Reading and Birmingham were both held on Sunday but McCarthy accepts that other teams will continue to put pressure on the leading pack.
He said: "The status quo remains the same between us and the two teams closest to us, but of course Cardiff will have a say, Sheffield United will have a say and a few others."
Parkes, placed in caretaker charge at Blackpool following Simon Grayson's appointment at Leeds, was delighted with the result.
Asked if it felt like a moral victory, he replied: "It does. Against the league leaders it was always going to be a tough game.
"They have got plenty of quality and to draw 2-2 with Wolves is a great effort from our players."
Parkes added that he would be interested in taking the role of manager on a full-time basis.
"Me and Steve Thompson would like the job if was offered to us but we are not counting our chickens before they are hatched," he explained.
"That is two draws we've had and two battling performances, and we go to Torquay in the FA Cup in high spirits."
