Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Craig Brewster has vowed he will not walk away from the club despite being rooted to the foot of the table.

Inverness have lost their last six Scottish Premier League games but still find themselves just a point behind Falkirk in 11th.

Brewster was speaking after his side's 3-0 home defeat by title hopefuls Rangers, a win that saw Walter Smith's men close the gap on Celtic to five points.

He insists that despite the club's current predicament in the league he is not feeling the pressure.

"There is pressure on managers whether it's at the top of the league to win titles or if you're mid-table to try and get into the top six," he told the Daily Record.

"And there's also pressure when you're at the bottom of the table to try and win games and get out of that situation.

"In that respect I am no different to any other manager. We're all trying desperately for our teams to win matches.

"I have the backing of the board. They wouldn't have let me bring in players if they weren't behind me.

Pressley hope

"We can't hide from our recent results but we've a big two weeks coming up which can help us turn it around."

Meanwhile Brewster is hopeful that the club can sign veteran defender Steven Pressley during the January transfer window.

"Steven has offers elsewhere but we've made him an offer and we expect to hear something this week."
