David Beckham is likely to be rested for AC Milan's friendly date with Hamburg on Tuesday.

The England international has been left out of Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI for the exhibition game in Dubai.

It was hoped that Beckham would be able to make his Milan debut in the fixture, but his bow appears to have been postponed.

The 33-year-old picked up a minor muscle problem in training this week and is unlikely to be risked in a non-competitive game.

He could, however, come back into contention in time for the resumption of Serie A action on Sunday.

Milan face a tricky trip to Roma at the weekend and would welcome the experience Beckham could bring to the side.
