Kroos: Not for sale
Bayern Munich boss Jurgen Klinsmann has emphasised that want-away midfielder Toni Kroos will not be allowed to leave the club in January.
Speaking at Bayern's winter training camp in Dubai, Klinsmann stressed that the talented playmaker, who is reportedly wanted by Stuttgart, will have to fight for his place in the Bundesliga champions' squad.
"We have decided that Toni will be staying at FC Bayern," Klinsmann said.
"We are also of the opinion that Toni has made progress this season so far even though he hasn't had much chance to play."
The former Germany international striker added that Kroos "must learn to assert himself and cope with the situation that there are other players who are ahead of him in the pecking order."
Meanwhile, Bayern are hoping to send Argentinian midfielder Jose Ernersto Sosa out on loan to help aid his acclimatisation to life in European football.
Sosa was signed at the end of last season, but has yet to make an impact at the Allianz Arena.
Although the 23-year-old accepts the need for regular first-team football if he is to remain part of his country's international set-up, he is unsure as to whether a departure from Bayern is the answer.
"I have to play regularly to keep my role in the Argentina squad, but I am not sure whether I should leave for five months instead of staying with Bayern," he told Kicker.
"I want to stay on, but it clearly depends on the whole situation. It wasn't great to read via the internet that they want to loan me out, even though the manager said getting first-team experience would be tough at Bayern for me.
"I could use a streak of five matches in the first team in a row, but I have not been given such a chance until now."
Asked about Sosa's situation, Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness added: "My hopes of getting something arranged until the end of the month are not looking good at the moment.
"But hopefully we will be able to work something out with another Bundesliga side."
