Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has criticised Roman Pavlyuchenko for storming down the tunnel against Manchester City.

The Russia international striker reacted badly to being substituted 15 minutes from time after making a mess of a simple finish.

Unhappy with the manager's decision, he stormed toward the dressing room instead of joining his team-mates on the bench.

Redknapp admitted his disappointment in Pavlyuchenko's reaction, saying the 27-year-old let the players and the fans down by storming off.

Disrespectful

"I don't like that," said the Spurs boss who applauded sarcastically when Pavlyuchenko made his darting exit. "It's not something I like. You're looking to scrap away.

"The fans are here and paying their money to watch and I think when a player runs down the tunnel without sitting down and watching and getting behind the team, I think that is disrespectful to his team-mates."

The striker's future looks far from certain at Spurs after an inconsistent first season at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp admits that some players will be leaving in the summer, with David Bentley amongst those who could depart.

"David is going to be a player looking at it and thinking 'hang on a minute, I'm not getting in the team even when Aaron Lennon is not fit. Maybe it is time I moved on'", Redknapp said.

"As a person I like him very much, he's a good lad and a good player. I've played differently and changed the way we've played a bit. I've had results so no-one can complain."
