Wotte: Confident
Mark Wotte is frustrated his summer rebuilding plans remain on hold until Southampton's takeover is complete.
The Dutch tactician has a number of players out of contract at St Mary's which he is currently unable to offer new deals.
English-based company Gillico are now reportedly leading the chase for The Saints after the Pinnacle consortium surprisingly dropped out of the running.
Wotte cannot wait for the takeover to be concluded so that he can finalise his squad and he remains confident that day is not far away.
"That's what we're waiting for (for the takeover to be completed). Just to get on with preparing for the new season," he told Sky Sports News.
"We want to prepare the squad for League One football. It will be a tough start, so the sooner we have a solution, and I'm confident we'll have a solution soon, the better we can get started.
"Once the takeover is completed we'll look at our budget. Then we'll make choices what players we can keep. Which players we have to let go and which players we can sign. That's why we need to a quick decision.
"It all depends on the budget. Until then I cannot make any comments about the squad."
