Everton owner Bill Kenwright is hopeful that a billionaire will one day take over at Goodison Park.

Kenwright has made no secret that he is actively looking for new investment to support manager David Moyes' team-building plans.

Moyes has performed impressively on a limited budget during his seven years in charge.

Last season the Scottish coach finished fifth in the Premier League while his side were runners-up in the FA Cup.

Kenwright told Sky Sports News: "We do live in a world where the economy of the world isn't good at the moment.

"And I know - as I was told 47 times tonight - the odd football club at the moment is finding investors.

"I do hope that we will be able to find the right kind of money so that those poor guys don't have to come up to me any more and say, 'Where's your billionaire?'. I'd love to find a billionaire.

"Because it will be a billionaire, it'll have to be, because the debts, the money that this football club needs to give the manager the £50million he deserves, not the £5million, £10million, £15million he gets.

"You've got to have that, plus the money for the club to take it forward. It will take a lot of money to take this club further."
