Skysports.com understands Charlton are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Rhyl starlet Luke Holden.

A number of clubs have been tracking Holden for some time and the left-sided winger was the subject of interest from Coventry earlier this month.

However, the move to Coventry failed to materialise and Charlton have moved to bring the former Liverpool and Tranmere trainee to The Valley.

Addicks boss Phil Parkinson has been keen to bolster his squad and he has agreed a deal for Holden before the close of the transfer window.

Rhyl have always insisted they would not stand in the way of the former Liverpool and Tranmere trainee if an offer from a league club came in and it looks like he will move to Parkinson's League One high fliers.
