Chamakh: No longer an Arsenal target
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he has no plans to revive his bid to sign Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh in January.
Chamakh was a target for Wenger in the summer, but the Gunners were unwilling to meet Bordeaux's asking price for the Morocco international.
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud criticised Wenger earlier this week after claiming the Premier League club's interest had an unsettling effect on Chamakh.
Wenger brushed off Triaud's comments and has insisted he will not be going back in for the 25-year-old in the New Year.
The Frenchman believes that he now has enough options in attack to ensure he does not need to revisit the Chamakh situation.
"No, we don't go anywhere," said Wenger.
"We have plenty of strikers. Eduardo has made a recovery and Nicklas Bendtner has extended his contract; that means we have strikers."
Chamakh is out of contract at the end of the season and has also been linked with West Ham United, in addition to Italian giants Juventus.
