Under-fire AC Milan coach Leonardo insists he is not fearful for his job after his side slumped to a shock 1-0 loss to underdogs FC Zurich in the San Siro.

Hannu Tihinen netted the winner in the tenth minute to condemn Leonardo's side to defeat in UEFA Champions League Group C.

The result will heap more pressure on the coach after a faltering start to the campaign, but the Brazilian says he is not thinking of himself.

He told Sky Italia: "I have no fear of my situation. I don't think of myself in this moment, but to what is the general situation for the club."

Massimo Ambrosini and Gianluca Zambrotta hit the post for Milan late on but the Italian giants could find no way through, while their defensive frailties were also exposed by the Swiss champions.

Leonardo admitted his side could do better.

Re-find balance

"I think this team can do better than it is doing. We must re-find the balance in our game, he said.

The coach added it was a lost opportunity for his side to cement their position in Group C after they had beaten Marseille in their opening game.

Instead, the Italian giants are now third in the table, three points behind a high-flying Real Madrid side whom they now must play twice in succession.

However, Leonardo believed Milan must not panic after the embarrassing defeat.

"I think we must try to be strong and tranquil," he concluded.
