Enrique: Chasing promotion
Jose Enrique claims Newcastle have yet to hit top gear this season despite currently topping the Championship.
The Magpies hold a three-point advantage over their second tier rivals and remain on course to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
They are yet to taste defeat at St James' Park this term, and have slipped up just once in 11 outings, while they have shipped only five goals at the back.
Their record so far makes for impressive reading, but Spanish full-back Enrique insists there is always room for improvement.
"We're top by three points which is fantastic even though we've only drawn our last two games," he told the Chronicle.
"Every team wants to win their home games, and I guess also every team in the league can say we should have more points. But we can't really complain.
"Myself and the rest of the lads know how important it is to get back into the Premier League.
"We're committed as a group and want to put last season's troubles behind us and give the supporters plenty to cheer."
