MK Dons have snapped up Barnsley winger Martin Devaney on a month's loan to improve Paul Ince's attacking options.

Devaney has featured just twice for Barnsley since Mark Robins took charge as manager and has not played a first-team game for over a month.

Robins recently admitted that he would be looking to send out some of his fringe players on loan and has now allowed Devaney to join MK Dons.

The 29-year-old could make his debut against Bristol Rovers on Saturday and he has been backed to make an impact during his time with the League One club.

Dons assistant manager Karl Robinson told the club's official website: "Martin's an exciting player we're looking forward to working with; he should really add something to the squad and bring the best out in others.

"He knows this division well having won promotion from it during his time with Barnsley, but he's also got great experience at a higher level and that should make a big difference.

"He knows what it takes to be successful and he should add a different dimension to the squad."
