France have called up uncapped duo Cedric Carrasso and Aly Cissokho for their World Cup play-off against Republic of Ireland, but again there is no place for Patrick Vieira.

Les Bleus coach Raymond Domenech has called up Lyon full-back Cissokho after Arsenal ace Gael Clichy was ruled out with a back injury.

Bordeaux goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso has also been drafted in to provide cover for Hugo Lloris and Steve Mandanda.

France will be without star winger Franck Ribery as the Bayern Munich man is struggling with a knee injury.

Midfield duo Yoann Gourcuff and Sidney Govou are back in the squad after missing the last outing.

However, former skipper Vieira has been omitted as he struggles to get regular first-team football at Inter Milan.

Arsenal trio William Gallas, Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby have been named in the squad along with Chelsea duo Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda.

France travel to Dublin for the first leg of their play-off on 14th November before welcoming Giovanni Trapattoni's troops to the Stade de France four days later.
