Harry Redknapp believes Ledley King is having trouble with his hamstring because he rarely trains.

The Tottenham defender has a chronic knee problem that prevents him from playing matches in quick succession.

He has learned to manage the injury and plenty of rest between games has enabled him to feature regularly for Spurs so far this season.

However, Redknapp recognises that not being able to play a full part in training can lead to other minor niggles being picked up.

King was forced off after an hour of Saturday's 2-0 victory over Sunderland due to a hamstring injury and Redknapp admits it is a concern.

"He felt his hamstring a little bit," said the Tottenham manager.

"Obviously with not training, it's a concern. That's what happens when you don't train - you do start to get a few twinges in games. It's a bit of a problem."
