Deportivo La Coruna kept their tournament hopes alive with a goalless draw against Murcia at the Riazor to win 1-0 overall.
Celta Vigo won 1-0 at Primera Division side Tenerife to win 3-1 on aggregate following the 2-1 first-leg win in Galicia.
Malaga went through at Real Zaragoza's expense, drawing 0-0 at home after a 1-1 draw away was enough to secure their place in the next round.
La Liga strugglers Xerez lost out at Osasuna, the Navarran outfit winning 1-0 at home after a 2-1 victory in the first leg last month.
Recreativo got the better of Gijon as a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win followed a 1-1 draw in normal time.
