Darius Vassell's future in Turkey has been cast into doubt after he was thrown out of his hotel where he was staying late at night.

The 29-year-old, who joined Ankaragucu in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester City, had been staying in the hotel since he arrived in the country but was evicted after the club failed to pay his bills.

The striker admits that the situation has forced him to consider an early return home but he also added that he feels a strong sense of responsibility to perform for the Ankaragucu fans that turned out in their thousands to welcome him at the airport upon his arrival.

Vassell admitted he had been kept in the dark as much as anyone and put the lack of communication down to the fact that the club had new owners.

"I don't know what's happening," he said on Sky Sports News.

"I have been told today that I have to leave the hotel. I have asked the managers did I do something wrong? The hotel manager said 'no you didn't do anything wrong' but they had a meeting today with the club and now I must leave the hotel.

"I don't really know what to do, I have not spoken to anybody yet.

"I have all my bags packed. My heart tells me to stay here and play football for the fans but my bags are all packed and I wonder sometimes whether I should go back home.

"But tomorrow I hope somebody will explain to me what is happening and we can resolve the situation.

"I'm not sure [if I will return to England], it's difficult first of all I don't speak the language so I can't hear anything that's happening.

"Today there was a problem, there was no training today and there was different communications. Some people thought there was training some people thought there wasn't.

"I know there has been a change of ownership and perhaps that is part of the problem, until everybody is organised and everyone is settled down perhaps it will be like this.

"My heart tells me I must stay here and play here, the fans made a big deal for me to come here and play and I can't abandon them now because I love football and I love playing football here in Turkey and I am sure my future is here."

Vassell has begun his career in Turkey promisingly with two goals in seven league games.

Brazil 5/4, England 7/4, Draw 9/4
