Fenerbahce defender Roberto Carlos has agreed to join Corinthians when his contract with the Turkish outfit expires.

The Brazilian legend is out of contract at the end of the year and has been persuaded by friend Ronaldo to join Corinthians.

The 36-year-old, who has won 125 caps for his country, has spent the past few seasons in Turkey following a glittering career with European giants Real Madrid.

Corinthians coach Mano Menezes confirmed Roberto Carlos has agreed a deal verbally with only the finer points of the details to be finalised before putting pen-to-paper.

"There's already an agreement between both parties and there are only a few details to be resolved," confirmed Menezes.

"Roberto Carlos has already given to us his word that he wants to end his contract at Fenerbahce in order to be able to play next year at Corinthians.

"We have an agreement with Roberto Carlos but this negotiation still needs some developments as there are a few things to be resolved."
