Hodgson: Doing a fine job
Roy Hodgson claims he would be happy to sign a contract extension with Fulham, should the club want him to.
The experienced coach has been a revelation at Craven Cottage since answering an SOS call from Mohamed Al-Fayed in December 2007.
Relegation was successfully avoided during his opening campaign, while European football was secured at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Hodgson's success has seen him win many admirers, with recent speculation linking him with the national posts of Sweden and Norway.
The former Switzerland and Inter Milan coach was quick to distance himself from such reports, though, and claims he would have no problem extending his association with Fulham.
"Absolutely. There's no reason not to," he told The Observer.
"The thing would be to make sure they want me to.
"If I could feel they really want to continue along these lines, and they want me to be the man to do it, I don't have itchy feet at all."
While happy with the way things are going at Craven Cottage, Hodgson admits he is wary of hitting the 'ceiling' with a club punching above their weight.
He added: "It's worth bearing in mind. It stops you striving too hard for something you're not going to get. It keeps your feet more on the ground. Every season, out of 20 managers very few are going to come away with plaudits.
"I'm worried about ceilings, and I'm worried about the constant desire for progression.
"I know you've got to progress but you can start reaching too high, and in doing that you can destroy a little bit of the tradition of the club, the structure."

Mr Al-fayed would be a very stupid man not to offer Roy Hodgson a new improved contract after what he has done for Fulham.with a limited budget compared to Man City and others he has worked wonders and most of the players have improved dramatically under his coaching. PS.MR AL-FAYED is far from being stupid.
