Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Luka Modric's return is still some way off.

Modric broke his leg against Birmingham in August, and it was hoped he would be back within six weeks.

However, nearly three months on - he is still not near a return and a frustrated Redknapp admits he is still not close to playing.

"It has been a long job, slower than expected we thought he would be back in six weeks, but it is twice that," he told Sky Sports News.

"He is working hard but he is still a little while away.

"It is hard to put a timescale on it - we don't know yet, he is working hard with the fitness coaches and it should just be a matter of time."
