Carlo Ancelotti was delighted after Chelsea beat Wolves 4-0 at Stamford Bridge to maintain their dominance at the top of the table.

The Blues raced to a three-goal lead inside 22 minutes thanks to a brace from Michael Essien and Florent Malouda's opener.

Joe Cole then netted in the 56th minute to complete the victory, which was Chelsea's 12th in a row in all competitions at Stamford Bridge, so setting a new club record for home wins.

The clean sheet also saw Ancelotti's side equal their record of 10 consecutive games without conceding at home.

The Italian told Sky Sports: "We have some things that we can do better but we are happy, we are satisfied because we have played well and we won.

"Sometimes Wolverhampton is not an easy team and we started the game very well, after 20 minutes it was 3-0 and after we went in, we had a good control of the game."

The Blues won without the likes of injured quartet Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Deco and Michael Ballack, showing their strength in depth.

Good squad

Ancelotti added: "This means that we have a very good squad, I can use other players, also young players - this is for a coach the most important thing."

He reiterated his team had played very well against Wolves, for whom they had respect.

"But when Chelsea play at their best it is difficult to play against Chelsea," noted Ancelotti.

With victory assured, Ancelotti gave some of his young players a run out, including Gael Kakuta, who was making his first-team debut.

In September, Chelsea were found guilty by Fifa of inducing Kakuta to breach his contract with Lens two years ago and punished them with a transfer ban until 2011, while suspending the player for four months.

But the Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended the bans until Chelsea's case is heard in full and that allowed Kakuta to make his debut.

Good talent

Ancelotti added: "He is a good talent, a very good talent. He is very young and I think that he deserved to play today because he is training very well.

"Also young players, when there is the possibility, I like to put them on the pitch in the first team."

Asked if the records were important, including the clean sheets, he replied: "It is important to maintain a good defence, it is very important in football.

"But we are happy for this and we want to maintain a clean sheet in the next game at home.

"This means we have started very well and so far we have done a good job."
