Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Voller is hoping to strike a deal which will allow Toni Kroos to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

The talented teenager joined Leverkusen on loan from Bayern Munich over the summer, having found first-team football hard to come by at the Allianz Arena.

He has impressed during his short time on the banks of the Rhine, proving to be more than capable of holding his own among the Bundesliga ranks.

The 19-year-old is scheduled to return to Bayern at the end of the current campaign, but Voller believes an agreement could be reached which would allow Kroos to stay at the BayArena for another 12 months.

"We are going to fight to keep Kroos, to ensure that he is going to remain with Bayer Leverkusen for at least one more season," he told Sport-BILD.

"I understand that Bayern Munich will be happy to welcome him back, but I will do my best.

"This loan agreement has been a success for all parties up until now."

No deal

Voller has also sought to quash reports suggesting he could be prepared to part with promising shot-stopper Rene Adler over the summer.

The 24-year-old keeper has been linked with a move to England, but Voller insists he is going nowhere.

"We have to make sure that Rene Adler remains part of Bayer Leverkusen," he added.

"We simply cannot afford to sell him if we have any intention of keeping our standards high."
