Gary Megson has called for focus as he seeks to guide Bolton away from the Premier League drop zone.

Sunday's loss to Blackburn was the Trotters' third successive top flight defeat, dropping them to 18th in the table.

Megson managed to keep the club up two seasons ago when he took over with the Trotters deep in the relegation mire - and he wants the players who were with him then to do the business once again.

He said: "The same players did it last time. It's whether they want to do it again.

Wherewithal

"Sometimes it is the same person, the same kit, the same surroundings, but sometimes the wherewithal isn't in the same bodies - I would hope that isn't the case."

While Megson outlined to his players after the Blackburn defeat exactly what was expected of them, he insisted there were no dressing-room bust-ups.

He told the Bolton Evening News: "We had a natter after the game - not a slanging match - just saying we have been here before.

"We have got to cope with issues that are outside the football club, that we need to make sure don't have an impact on what we are trying to achieve."
