Hodgson: New deal agreed
Roy Hodgson has confirmed he has verbally agreed to remain at Fulham beyond the end of the season.
The Cottagers boss' contract had been due to expire in the summer, sparking concerns he could leave for pastures new.
However, on the back of Wednesday's fine 3-0 success over Blackburn, Hodgson has allayed fans' fears.
The ex-Finland boss has agreed a deal with owner Mohamed Al Fayed and insists the talks were easy and straightforward.
Hodgson has reiterated his happiness with the West Londoners and is now looking forward to putting pen-to-paper on his deal.
"It wasn't a difficult discussion," Hodgson told the Evening Standard.
"We are basically in agreement and I've got to say it was very easy to come to that agreement.
"It seems that everyone is keen for me to stay and I've always made it perfectly clear that I'm happy to stay.
"I've never made any secret of the fact that I'm happy at Fulham and I'm enjoying the job here.
"It is just a matter now of putting the contract discussions that we have already had onto paper."

Can't believe that he was only contracted to the end of this season and that we hadn't already tied him down to a few more years here. Good to see that this will put an end to any speculation that he might be leaving.

Good news for Fulham FC! Hodgson is a quality manager and he's turned the club into a force in a short space of time. Good luck to them. I personally would like to see Roy Hodgson as England Manager one day, maybe as his last job in football management, much the same situation as Capello is in now. A genuinely gifted English coach!

I must agree with Simon Watson there. Fulham have undoubtedly demonstrated their ambitions to maintain these new found high standards since the reign of Roy Hodgson began. Christmas has come early for the craven cottage faithful with the news that the gaffer has agreed new terms with the club. Many followers from Malta including myself will carry out celebrations this coming weekend! May Hodgson's tenure carry on defying odds
