Anelka: Settled at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka hopes he is not far away from signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The France international has struggled to settle during his career and the Blues are his ninth professional club.
But Anelka, who will face former club Arsenal on Sunday, has been in good form this season and feels comfortable with Premier League title contenders Chelsea.
The Blues are reportedly ready to offer the 30-year-old a new £120,000-a-week deal and negotiations are understood to be taking place in West London.
Anelka has 18 months remaining on his current agreement, but he said in the News of the World: "I hope to sign a new contract soon. I am very happy at Chelsea. I have found a home.
"Ever since I left Real Madrid I wanted to find a big club again and I have with Chelsea.
"I feel I am playing the best football of my career and want to carry on playing my best days with Chelsea."
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti admits he has been surprised at how well Anelka has fitted into his tactical plan.
The Italian, again quoted in the News of the World, said: "I am very happy for him, he is a big surprise. I knew him before I came here, I knew his qualities. But now it is different.
"I always thought he was an individual player but instead he plays very well for the team."

He just reached 30 back in March, still has many great years ahead of him. Look at Giggs, 36 and still hammering them home

Glen Box (Chelsea fan) says... Why are you worried how much money you pay him a week you've got loads of it. Chelsea are only where they are because of the amount of money that's been ploughed in over the last 4/5 years. Recently you haven't been too concerned how you pay for a player or how much you pay a player either so why start now
