John Terry has highlighted Chelsea's fighting spirit and willingness to put their bodies on the line as reasons for their current good form.

The Blues thumped Arsenal 3-0 at Emirates Stadium on Sunday thanks to two goals from Didier Drogba but it was the league leaders' defence which stood out against the Gunners.

Carlo Ancelotti's men seemed determined to keep a clean sheet with blocks and tackles flying in from all angles.

Unsurprisingly it was their skipper who was at the heart of the action and Terry believes the team spirit at the club is there for all to see.

"We've been there before and thrown (a lead in the title race) away, so we need to regroup and stay together," he told Sky Sports 1.

"But at the moment you can see people throwing their bodies in front of balls and everyone fighting for each other, which is great to see.

"We're playing really well, we have great confidence and great team spirit, and we need to continue this."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger felt his side were unlucky to go into the break 2-0 down but Terry admits Chelsea expected the hosts to enjoy the lion's share of possession.

"We expected it," he added. "We watched a lot of videos on them and we all know they are probably the best at playing possession.

"We did our job and soaked it up and, going forward, I thought the midfield and attack were exceptional - Nico (Anelka) and Didier spreading wide and our midfielders getting through the middle of them caused them all sorts of problems."
