Florent Malouda insists Chelsea have learnt from past mistakes and will not allow their season to unravel.

The Blues burst out of the blocks this term, quickly establishing a commanding lead at the top of the Premier League table and making impressive inroads in Europe.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have, however, faltered of late, with a four-game winless run threatening to undermine their efforts.

The Stamford Bridge outfit saw their 2008/09 campaign come undone around the turn of the year, with Luiz Felipe Scolari ultimately paying the price for the failings with his job.

French winger Malouda is adamant that Chelsea will not allow the same thing to happen this time around, and he is confident that the Blues are a stronger outfit now than they were 12 months ago.

"If you make a mistake once, you have to learn from it, and that's what we are trying to do. That's why we are reacting," he told the Daily Express.

"We are not worried, because we are experienced. We started the season at a champions' pace and we knew that there would be a moment when we lost points.

"We are aware that this is not good enough, but we have to stay confident in the way we train and the way we play.

Busy period

"We have lost points and conceded goals. The difference is that physically it is a bit harder, because we are in a busy period.

"That's why we need everybody to stay fresh. That's what will make the difference between a strong team that doesn't make mistakes, and a team that does."

Malouda, who is currently struggling with a toe injury, added: "We have analysed our mistakes.

"That is why we are still on top because even when we are winning we are analysing.

"We know what we have to work on. We know we are strong. When we look at the others they are losing points. We are on top of the league, finished first in our Champions League group.

"It's not the quality. You don't point the finger at one man and say it's his fault. It's a problem of concentration on set plays, and that's why you can fix it.

"The players are speaking in the dressing room. The manager knows we are not happy with what we are doing. It is a team thing and we will put it right."
