Queens Park Rangers have named Paul Hart as their new manager.

As revealed by skysports.com on Wednesday, Rangers had lined up Hart as their new boss following the departure of Jim Magilton.

Magilton and his assistant John Gorman left Loftus Road on Wednesday night by mutual consent following Magilton's bust-up with Akos Buzsaky after the 3-1 defeat at Watford earlier this month.

The Northern Irishman had been suspended by the club in the wake of the bust-up and following an internal inquiry into the incident the former Ipswich manager has left Rangers.

Rangers have moved quickly to fill the void by bringing Hart to Loftus Road on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Hart, who was sacked by Portsmouth last month, will be assisted by former Luton boss Mick Harford, who had a spell as caretaker manager at Rangers in 2007.

Don¿t judge Paul Hart the new coach at Queens Park Rangers until the guy has been given a chance. He may well have the character to bring the best out of the players that has been missing. That is a far better option than taking unnecessary and often wasteful gambles in cold transfer windows.

This is a joke. How many managers have they gone through since these new owners have arrived? I can think of four this year-Dowie, Sousa, Magilton and now Hart. Doesn't matter how good the manager may potentially be if he isn't given time to settle they're not going to be able to make an impact. I personally would put Mancini in charge and give him three years to get promoted.

Joe Price (Liverpool fan) says...

Hart was unlucky at pompy and should never have been sacked. He deserves a proper shot without the board selling off all his best players!

QPR is rapidly becoming a laughing stock, two good managers in Sousa and Magilton sacked for non football issues. Both Managers play attractive passing football QPR one of the best teams we have played this season despite winning 2-0, both Managers have served legal claims against the club for unfair dismissal and in my view both have good cases and could easily win compensation claims. Perhaps the board want unattractive long ball game as Forest played under Harts leadership and perhaps they should realise the Championship is a tight division with all the teams of a similar standard and unless the board bring in a top flight manager like Hoddle, Errickson or even Curbishley or Pardew and spent at least 10 of their millions that is where they will stay.

Can not understand this appointment, we were playing some good stuff under Jim. Paul Hart is a nice guy but he has a track record of failure. We need to push on and appointments like this add little. Whatever the right or wrongs at Watford, appointments like this make us a laughing stock hardly considered and planing for a great revival its more time in the championship I am afraid.

Absolute joke appointment....Once again QPR prove that no matter how much investment you have, if you dont have the right man running the show (Briatore!!) you dont have a hope !!!.........I would just like to know at what point the board looked at the candidates, and decided that Paul Hart (Sacked from Forest, Portsmouth), and Mick Harford (Sacked From Luton) were the way forward !!! I do wish Paul & Mick all the best as a lifelong QPR Fan, but I feel come the end of the season when we haven't reached the play-offs we will be going through this whole process again, when in fact we should be looking to sack the power hungry italian running the show. Briatore has already been accused of organising a crash in F1, now it looks like he organising another one down at Loftus Road !!!

Matthew Chandler (Swansea City fan) says...

I think it's quite a bold move that QPR have gone for Paul hart but i have to disagree with some QPR fans, i think the way Paul Hart handled the whole Portsmouth saga was not only loyal but very professional, and as such deserves a big break in football! My point to all QPR fans is though it's not really the manager's fault the way the club is heading it's the non football Chairmen of flavio briatore and bernie Ecclestone who seem to have a very itchy trigger finger when it come's to the hiring and firing of managers, look at the job paulo sousa's doing for us at swansea city now, surely the QPR board is regretting there decision now! Whatever happens this season though i wish QPR luck, because boy dont they need it!

i can understand the frustration that every qpr fan is going through but lets give paul hart a chance, lets get behind him, i´m a fan of trying to play decent quality football and that´s certainly the philosophy of paul hart. i´ve got a really good feeling about his appointment

Paul Sheldrake (Ipswich Town fan) says...

With jim magilton there were rumours of big bust-ups with at least 2/3 players at ipswich, his attitude and experience in a managerial position was'nt enough to prove he could cut it as a manager as the pressure mounted in him. as they say what comes around, goes around.

David Mclean (Newcastle United fan) says...

Paul Hart is a good manager and IMO your lucky he came to you, yeah youv got money (not spent nothing)but when was the last time you was in the prem? or infact finished in the play-offs? stop deluding yourselves thinking that you could attract a bigger name We have Hughton and nobody thought he was going to set the world alight (apart from me) and look where we are now. Your a mediocre team, Hart likes to play some decent football and has good coaching credentials, who is also good at not wasting money and bringing through players Yeah your right about saying forget newcastle are a joke club, where have you been the last few months?!?! WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE! best team in the division and when we get promoted we`ll finish in the top 6 next year mark my words! Just to prove the people who branded us a "joke" wrong

Michael Tuckwell (Sunderland fan) says...

Its funny QPR what do you want? Hart is a brilliant manager flung in at the deep end and kept a financialy bankrupt club in the top flight with little resources, with good experiance at a progressing club like yourselves and the top flight will be welcoming you back very soon. Richard calm down dear saying your club is the joke club, the reason that Newcastle are the joke is that the majority of the fans want champions league football this year followed by a world cup win the next and because they cannot get it they attack the owner who puts all his finances into the club to keep the heads above water and still they are ungrateful and did'nt get behind the club like they should! You should be behind your team no matter what because if your just gona moan all the time about something you cannot change then the club is'nt the joke, its you the supporter who becomes the joke!

Nick Thake (Nottingham Forest fan) says...

Dont despair QPR fans. Paul Hart was excellent at Forest and was bizarrely sacked from the club. He finished in the play offs and then had no fewer than 7 'first choice' players sold under him the following season and the club wondered why we were struggling near the bottom (hardly his fault really). If he repeats what he acheived in his first season with Forest, he'll do you proud.

Richard Treml (Queens Park Rangers fan) says...

Absolute joke of an appointment. Nothing personal but his win ratio is shocking in management and his track record of being sacked from managerial positions leves little to be desired. Forget Newcastle being the joke of a club, QPR have well and truely taken over in that area!! Another season next season of Championship football beckons

Steve Wright (Chelsea fan) says...

if rangers want to progress, stop mucking about and put your money where your mouth is.stop buying mediocre players and getting in average managers.paul hart, the nice guy that he is ,will not be the answer.

Nigel Tilson (Queens Park Rangers fan) says...

The soap opera at Loftus Road continues. Being a QPR fan these days is a real rollercoaster. I feel sorry for 'Magic' Magilton and John Gorman. The team was playing well under their guidance, but when that flamboyant and ruthless, some would say crazy, Italian wants rid of you then he will get rid of you. Hope Hart and Harford can keep up the good work. They will need all the luck in the world!

Alex Rayns (Nottingham Forest fan) says...

Very good appointment! Im a Forest fan and Paul Hart played some really good football, he was sacked after we finished in the play-offs and lost to sheff u! Mick harford is good aswel he was a manager along with Ian Mcparland and they know how to motivate a team! I hope you do well. Billy Davies is our king!
