Inter Milan are resigned to losing Patrick Vieira this month, amid reported interest from Manchester City.

New Manchester City chief Roberto Mancini is believed to be keen on raiding his old club to bring Vieira back to England.

Mancini signed Vieira when he was in charge of Inter and he is ready to offer him a move to Eastlands.

Vieira has made just six appearances in the starting XI for Inter this season and would like regular first team football ahead of next summer's World Cup as he aims to secure a place in France's squad.

Asked what the chances were of Vieira staying at the San Siro Jose Mourinho told reporters "I think they are very slim."

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the former Arsenal man, but Pep Guardiola has ruled out a bid for the Frenchman.

"As far as I know, we don't need any new central midfielders," said Guardiola.
