Skysports.com understands Hearts have joined the chase to sign Falkirk star Darren Barr.

Barr's contract expires in the summer and he is being tipped for a move away from the Bairns.

The 24-year-old has attracted the interest of Aberdeen and Hibernian, while a number of English sides are also thought to be monitoring his situation.

Now Hearts have enterted the race to sign the Scotland international and they are ready to battle their SPL rivals for Barr's signature.

Barr has established himself as one of the best young talents in Scotland and Falkirk boss Eddie May has previously indicated he hopes to keep hold of the versatile defender until the end of the season at least.
