Carlo Ancelotti insists Chelsea cannot afford to lose any ground in the title race against Everton on Wednesday.

The Blues regained their two-point lead over Manchester United on Sunday with a 2-0 win over rivals Arsenal.

Chelsea dropped two points in their last Premier League clash with Everton after playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Ancelotti's men have a chance to exact revenge on the Toffees at Goodison Park and the Italian is hoping to continue their winning form.

The former AC Milan boss believes the season is approaching a pivotal point and wants his charges to remain focused throughout.

Need to win

"I think in that game we played very well," he said. "We scored three goals and we conceded three goals from set pieces.

"Wednesday's game will be a different game. We need to win.

"We need to win because we need to stay top of the table. It won't be easy because against Everton now it's very difficult.

"Everton are playing very well. They lost their last game against Liverpool, but they were playing well in their previous matches.

"We have to pay attention. A lot of attention. It could be very important moment in the Premier League. It could be an important date."
