West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola is not planning on quitting Upton Park because he does not like to 'leave a situation unfinished'.

On Tuesday the Italian slammed the Hammers' new co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan for telling a newspaper they were going to ask staff to take a pay cut.

Speculation has therefore increased that Zola could be set to leave the club and sacked Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has been installed as favourite to replace him in East London.

But West Ham's current manager, who is preparing his Premier League relegation-threatened side for an important match against Birmingham on Wednesday, is adamant that he is not going anywhere.

Zola said: "I am what I am and I believe in what I do and I think we can produce good results.

"I am too connected and tied up to the players. I have a relationship with them and the supporters.

"I do not like to leave a situation unfinished. The players are focused on the job."
