Lyon's Ligue 1 match against Grenoble has been moved forward by two days to help them prepare for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

The Stade Gerland clash will now take place on Friday 26th March, after Lyon progressed to the last eight by beating Real Madrid.

The French giants felt they had been harshly treated by the French league ahead of their trip to Santiago Bernabeu, with a fixture backlog threatening to undermine their efforts.

However, they have welcomed the news that the LFP are prepared to do all they can to ensure their European adventure is not brought to a premature end.

"This departure from the calendar has been granted in the interest of French football," the LFP said in a statement.
