Rooney: Remains modest
At the end of my career it would be nice to be spoken of as one of the greats. But right now I certainly don't see myself as that

Quotes of the week
Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney insists he still has a long way to go before he can be considered 'one of the greats'.
The striker has enjoyed a phenomenal season so far and has broken the 30-goal barrier in all competitions.
But ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Fulham, Rooney is adamant that he cannot yet be considered a legend.
"I have so much learning and improving to do over the next few years," he said in The Sun.
"At the end of my career it would be nice to be spoken of as one of the greats. But right now I certainly don't see myself as that. It's only my sixth year at United, you need a few more before you can be saying that."
He added: "Staying grounded is important and that's where family come in. I have a very strong and passionate one behind me and there's no way I'd be allowed to believe I'm something I'm not.
"To my family I am a husband, dad, son, cousin, uncle or whatever. I speak to them after games and they understand the frustrations at times, they've brought me up to be that way.
"You have to grow up. I have been in the spotlight since I came through at 16, and up to 20 you are learning how to deal with it.
"Since then I have had a better understanding of it and on the pitch as well. I deal with not getting decisions better than I did. When I go home I have a baby to look after now, or I might watch TV or play on my games console."
Meanwhile, Rooney is desperate to win the league with United this season in order to overhaul Liverpool's record of 18 titles.
The former Everton hero said: "I've always felt the league is the most important one to win, but especially this year. If we do that it will be four on the run, which no-one has done before.
"And we would go above Liverpool's number of titles so to do it this year would be a big, big moment for everyone at the club."

If the Rooney were watching now still has more to come, then were in for something extremely special. He has been phenomenal for utd this season, and at a time they really needed someone to step up and score the goals Ronaldo once would. This world cup is the first since italia 90, where I'm actually confident we'll be in that final.

Trevor Eeckm (Everton fan) says...
Utd will fall at the last hurdle, Chelsea for the title this year, no one will ever win 4 on the bounce, as for Rooney being a "great" I think it's just hype, yes he's been very very good this year but his style of play will mean premature burnout, remember the REAL Ronaldo? He was gone by 28 & he did win the world cup, Rooney has no chance of that.
