Andrew Andronikou believes Portsmouth could come out of administration in 'six to eight weeks'.

Pompey's administrator was speaking on the day that the South Coast club saw a winding-up order against them suspended by the High Court.

Such a ruling has offered a glimmer of hope for the struggling Premier League side, who had faced folding under a mountain of debt.

The outlook now appears a little brighter, with Andronikou optimistic regarding the club's chances of leaving administration before the end of the season.

"The hearing occurred and the administration continues as normal," Andronikou said on the High Court ruling.

"The cloud has been lifted. We had to go to court as a reference point but the administration has now been rubber-stamped."

On the amount of time it would take for matters to be cleared up enough for administration to be exited, he added: "I think that will be in six to eight weeks."

Andronikou has also held initial talks with prospective buyer Rob Lloyd, who has expressed an interest in acquiring the ailing club.

"I met him last night (Monday) and set out a few ground rules and we have agreed a way forward," he added.

"There are still some boxes for him to tick."

Finally, Andronikou has also revealed that he plans to fight Premier League officials should Portsmouth be stung with a nine-point penalty for slipping into administration.

"The odds are stacked against us," he said.

"I feel that other clubs feel that we should take our medicine but I feel that we should be judged on results on the pitch.

"Yes, it is a Premier League rule but that rule has never been tested and that's what I will do."

Should Pompey be relegated and fail to come out of administration they would be hit with a further 10-point deduction next season and Andronikou admits that would be a 'disaster'.
