Laws: The subject of speculation
Burnley have issued a statement to categorically deny a national newspaper report that has suggested they are seeking a replacement for Brian Laws.
Since succeeding Owen Coyle in the Turf Moor dugout Laws has overseen just one win from ten games, a situation which has led to talk he is already under pressure.
The Sun reported on Wednesday morning that Clarets chairman Barry Kilby is ready to act now, in a bid to stem a run of form that has them drop into the relegation zone.
However, such claims have now been angrily rebuffed by the club in a statement that brands the report 'ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate'.
Laws signed a two-and-a-half year deal upon his appointment and Kilby insists the club remain fully behind their manager.
Kilby said, via an official club statement: "This is a ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate piece of journalism.
"We are not in the process of looking for a replacement for Brian and everyone involved with Burnley Football Club is putting every ounce of effort into staying in the Premier League."

After hearing the crowd reaction on Saturday and seeing the posts on Burnley forums only the chairman seems to support Brian. From what I can tell most Burnley fans are baffled how he got the job in the 1st place. Good luck to him though I say and I hope Burnley can stay up.... just not at Wolves expense!

Mr Kilby has been a great chairman at Burnley, but he must take responsibility for the awful appointment of Brian Laws as manager. Unfortunately, he was the cheap option and to replace Owen Coyle with this failed Championship manager was inviting trouble. Laws's signings have been terrible, his tactics unfathomable and his substitutions bizarre. Kilby should cut his losses, sack Laws now and get somebody in to prepare us for the inevitable life in the Championship next season. Brian Laws last 20 league games as manager of Burnley & Sheffield Wednesday have yielded 1 win, 1 draw & 18 defeats! An absolute joke.

I dont want to say I told you so but appointing Brian Laws was a backward step no premiership experience was a recipe for disaster we had a hard enough job as it was to stay up and its looking more and more unlikely I have enjoyed watching Burnley this season never a dull moment but out classed maybe the board should have spent some money I would have preferred a debt than go straight back down a lifelong claret and always will be

i'm a burnley fan through and through, go to watch them home and away, and from day 1 of this appoinment, i haven't been confident with what laws can do, He got sacked by sheffield wednesday for dropping them into a relegation battle, and as a reward, comes to a premier league club, and has dropped them into a relegation battle, for me burnley took the cheap option in laws, if we do go down, i'm giving him until november as the fans will proberly get on his back more. first away win on saturday at wigan. Up the Clarets!!!!

Worst appointment of the season. Period. Why would you employ a man to keep you in the Premier League who has just been sacked by a club who are fighting for Championship survival??!! Sorry Burnley fans, you haven't got a chance of Premier League survival.

My bro and I have been avid Burnley supporters for many years, I travel back from Spain occassionally to catch a game! Brian Laws is simply not the man for the job his results previously and now speak volumes. Bring on Phil Brown!!

Really, really hoped the rumours were true! Mr Laws seems destined to take us down to the Championship through poor management and even worse substitutions!
