Roman Pavlyuchenko has performed a dramatic U-turn by declaring that he wants to stay at Tottenham.

The Russia international seemed to be on his way out of White Hart Lane during the January transfer window, but Spurs boss Harry Redknapp decided to retain his services and instead allowed Robbie Keane to leave for Celtic on loan.

The 28-year-old has found himself back in favour in recent weeks and he has taken his chance by netting eight goals in six games.

Pavlyuchenko insists he is not thinking about his future and is focused on helping Spurs finish in the top four and winning the FA Cup.

"I'm not in a hurry to make decisions on my career - unlike last month, when I was sure I would leave," said Pavlyuchenko.

"I now think only about the end of the season.

"We stand a good chance of finishing in the Champions League places, so we shouldn't waste this opportunity.

"And we will fight for the FA Cup, too. So I will think about my future in May.

"And I'm not going to guess how many goals I'll score - let's count them once it's over."
