Jody Craddock is delighted with the promise of a new deal after returning to form with Wolves in the Premier League.

Boss Mick McCarthy has given the 34-year-old his word that an offer will be made to prolong his stay at Molineux, where he is currently the squad's longest serving outfield player.

And Craddock has indicated there should be no complications when the expected one-year contract extension is on the table by revealing his delight at the verbal agreement.

"It's fantastic news that the gaffer's said I'm going to be offered something," Craddock told the club's official website.

"I've put a lot of hard work into the season and tried to look after myself and fortunately have managed to stay free of injuries apart from a few niggles.

"It was a dream for me to get a contract for this season and play in the Premier League and it's the same again to be offered another one now.

"I couldn't have asked for anything more. It's also given me a massive boost ahead of the last few games of the season."

Wolves are three points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand over 18th-placed Burnley as the fight for survival looks set to go down to the wire.

Craddock, who has four Premier League goals this term, insists survival is within sight and is adamant any contract talks will not affect his focus on the task at hand.

"We want to finish the job and stay in the Premier League which will be brilliant for me and for the team and the fans," he added.

"Getting involved in any contract talks certainly wouldn't distract me from anything - it's just going to push me on.

"I'm concentrating purely on the football and doing my bit to try and help the team stay in the league."
