Jones: Crucial brace
Rochdale proved they have the mark of champions, Notts County moved up to second and struggling Grimsby stunned Bournemouth.
League leaders Rochdale hit back from 2-0 down to snatch all three points in a six-goal thriller at local rivals Accrington Stanley with both teams ending the match with 10 men.
The game exploded in the final 30 minutes with John Miles and Michael Symes on target for the hosts, only for Gary Jones' brace and Chris O'Grady's effort to turn the game on its head.
Symes and Jason Taylor were both given their marching orders after an off-the-ball clash, while Kallum Higginbotham made it 4-2 moments before the final whistle.
Josh Walker struck an important late goal for Rotherham as Ronnie Moore's men kept pace with the race for a top-three finish, seeing off Bury 1-0, with the Shakers' automatic promotion hopes taking a knock.
Ashley Chambers bagged a priceless last-minute winner as Grimsby stunned promotion-chasing Bournemouth at Blundell Park. Lee Bradbury and Liam Feeney had cancelled out efforts from Jamie Devitt and Michael Coulson before Jeff Goulding saw red and Chambers struck.
Notts County's impressive from under new manager Steve Cotterill shows no sign of coming to an end as Mike Edwards bagged the only goal against Crewe at Gresty Road.
Chesterfield were forced to settle for a point from their trip to Burton Albion as Greg Pearson stepped off the bench to bag a late, late leveller for the hosts in a 2-2 draw.
Northampton strengthened their grip on seventh place in the table with a 2-0 triumph over Morecambe at Sixfields with Liam Davis giving the hosts an early advantage and Ryan Gilligan also on target.
Aldershot remain in contention for an end-of-season play-off place following their 2-0 home success against top-seven hopefuls Shrewsbury as Oliver Bozanic and Marvin Morgan found the net.
Dagenham & Redbridge can still force their way into the top-seven shake-up following their 3-1 home win over Macclesfield, where Danny Green bagged a second-half brace after the visitors had lead at the break.
Davide Somma bagged a brace as Lincoln eased any lingering relegation concerns with a 3-2 success over fellow strugglers Torquay at Plainmoor.
Hereford were another side at the wrong end of the table to claim an important three-point haul as goals from Mathieu Manset and Jake Jervis saw off Bradford.
Cheltenham continue to glance nervously over their shoulder after Grimsby's success, as the Robins were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Port Vale, where Medy Elito cancelled out John McCombe's early opener.
Darlington were pushed ever closer to relegation from the Football League as first-half goals from David Livermore and Albert Adomah helped Barnet claim a 2-1 success in the North East.
