Everton defender Seamus Coleman has extended his loan at Blackpool until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old right-back has impressed at Bloomfield Road since arriving on loan last month.

The Irishman is delighted to be staying at Blackpool as they fight for a play-off place in the Championship.

"I was delighted when the gaffer told me Everton had said I was okay to stay until the end of the season," Coleman told Blackpool's official website.

"It gives me the chance to play some more games and we have something to play for so it should be good hopefully.

"Obviously if Everton wanted me back I would have gone back but I am happy to stay with Blackpool and we have something to play for which is great for me and the rest of the lads."
