Skysports.com understands Eunan O'Kane is set to sign a new deal to stay at Torquay.

O'Kane has impressed at Plainmoor since arriving from Irish side Coleraine in January.

The former Everton trainee initially only signed a short-term deal until the end of the season, but he is now ready to sign a two-year contract extension.

The 19-year-old has made 13 appearances since arriving in January and his form has helped Torquay climb clear of trouble at the wrong end of League Two.

A number of clubs, including one from the Championship, were thought to be tracking O'Kane, but the midfielder is set to pledge his future to Torquay as he seeks to continue his development by playing regular first-team football.
