Skysports.com understands Paddy McCourt has agreed a new deal to stay at Celtic.

The skilful attacker is set to ink a two-year extension to keep him at Parkhead until 2013.

The news is a blow for Blackpool boss Ian Holloway as he was keen to lure the 26-year-old to the Premier League new boys.

McCourt, who was signed from Derry City in 2008, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the starting XI.

However, it appears he been given assurances by Celtic boss Neil Lennon that he remains part of his plans ahead of the new season.
