AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri does not expect David Beckham to return to the Serie A club.

Former England captain Beckham watched his former team hold Arsenal in a 1-1 pre-season friendly draw at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The 35-year-old midfielder, who is currently contracted with Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy, spent part of the last two seasons on loan at the Italian giants.

Beckham, whose camp have already ruled out reports of a potential move to West Ham, is set to join up with Galaxy on 9th August as he nears recovery from the ruptured Achilles tendon which ruled him out of the World Cup this summer.

But new Milan coach Allegri does not believe Beckham will make a reappearance at the San Siro next season.

"I do not think so," said Allegri. "David is now recovering from a very bad injury and at that age it is very difficult to come back.

"But it has been a great pleasure for us to see him today."
