Marseille midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa has vowed not to play for the club again as he tries to engineer a move to Newcastle.

The 23-year-old France international has attracted the interest of the newly-promoted Premier League side, but the French champions are not allowing him leave.

Ben Arfa has refused to train over the last several days and he was dropped for Marseille's Ligue 1 defeat at Valenciennes on Saturday.

And Ben Arfa insists his future lies at St James' Park.

"I will not go back to Marseille," he told French newspaper L'Equipe.

"Newcastle have committed themselves to give Marseille what they were asking for, which is a loan with an option to buy."
